How to Regain Your Cleaning Motivation

Top Td Blog Template

When it comes to cleaning your home, sometimes you will feel a little bit overwhelmed, without any motivation to do a single chore. Many of the cleaning professionals know that it is very important for people to retain their motivation, or else many of the cleaning tasks in their homes will fall behind.

Everyone has lost their cleaning motivation at some point. Maybe it is because nobody is helping them, or simply because other matters are draining their attention and energy. Regardless, if that is the case with you, there are some simple steps you can take to regain your willingness to clean at home. Here is what to consider: Girl 1531575 1920

  • Start off small – the first, and most important tip that you should follow in regards to regaining your cleaning motivation is to start off with very small tasks. A single surface in the kitchen area. Not the entire floor area of the room, or even a smaller place like the bathroom. A single surface is enough to provide that little spark of motivation. You should not feel guilty that you are doing so little at the moment, because such small beginnings can have great endings. Doing something counts, no matter how little it is. And then, one step at a time, you can extend your efforts towards doing more than just one surface. You will be surprised how effective such a cleaning trick is.
  • Commit to a single area for 2 days – when you have started the process of regaining your cleaning motivation, focus on a single area of your home for a few days. Remove any blemish, dust, scratch, stain or whatever it is that keeps the area from being perfect. You can give some attention to the area early in the day, and then before going to bed. The goal here is to get into the habit of paying attention to your home twice a day. And you are doing that by starting small. This will also help you get a better understanding of the state your home is in, and bring back the motivation to clean it. You won’t be able to resist the urge to bring every room to a perfect condition.
  • Treat yourself to some reward – if you have stayed true to your commitment to clean and area for 2 days, it is time to reward yourself. Some kind of minor indulgence works well to provide you with a sense of recognition, even if it is coming from yourself. This will tell your brain that the efforts you have invested are worth it, and that you should continue said efforts.
  • Expanding your focus – once you have regained some sense of accomplishment, you need to start paying attention to the rest of your home. Once again, it is a good idea to start doing all of this in small chunks. Set your timer for 10 minutes and start cleaning. This will make you feel more confident and ready to tackle larger projects.Clean 571679 1920
  • Take regular rests – it is easy to feel tired and lose all motivation to clean. But you have to remember that the more your tire yourself out, the more likely you are to hate cleaning. Don’t forget to get quick rests in-between tasks, so as to keep yourself fresh and maintain your energy levels high until you finish the process.

Taking all of these small steps is a fine way to get yourself motivated to clean. Take them one by one and you will notice how much more willing you are to invest the time and effort in cleaning.
