7 Cleaning Hacks That Seem Crazy, But Work Wonders

7 Cleaning Hacks That Seem Crazy, But Work Wonders

If you have run into a cleaning problem that you cannot quite solve, it may be a good idea to start thinking outside the box. Sometimes, it takes a different approach to get the most done and forget about all of the cleaning hurdles.

You may be used to using commercial sprays, cleaners and all that for your day-to-day cleaning tasks, but the truth is that some of the common household items in your home can turn into home cleaning hacks and turn a cleaning task into a more manageable chore. Here are a few recommendations in that aspect, which may seem weird to you at first, but will make a lot of sense when you try them out:

You can use a coffee filter to clean glass

House Cleaning Tips

If your windows and mirrors are looking cloudy, you should not instantly reach for the glass cleaner. Instead, you can try with coffee filters. They can really shine the windows and any glass surfaces you have around. Try it and you will be impressed.

Wipe the chalkboard with a baby wipe

If you have a chalkboard at home and you want to clear it up for your children to draw and write, you don’t need anything but a baby wipe. They are ideal for getting a clean slate in an instant.

Clean camping gear with vodka

Did you have any idea that vodka is actually great for multiple cleaning hacks? You can use it on old camping gear for example. Just pour some vodka in a spray bottle, and mist your equipment. If you want to add in some fresh scent, pour in a few drops of essential oil.

Clean dried-on food with drier sheets

You must loathe scrubbing a dirty pan or a dish, simply because at times it feels impossible to remove the mess. Using a scrubber and some dish soap is not going to always cut it. You may need a special cleaning hack. You can make your job a lot easier when you drop a single dryer sheet in the messy pot, and fill it with water and soap.

Allow it to sit like that for about an hour and then check out just how quick and easy it is to remove the gunk and grime.

Remove oil stains on clothes with chalk

If you are worried that your favourite shirt is ruined by having a stain on it, you should try to salvage it with chalk. Before you toss it in the washer for another time in hopes that it will work, pre-treat it with some chalk. The idea is that chalk is super-absorbent, and it can do the trick in the washer.

Clean cloudy word with mayonnaise

If you have applied heat or water to wooden furniture, the material may now have some cloudy stains, which is not great at all. Our cleaning hack for this troublesome matter is … mayonnaise! That is right – slather some mayonnaise on the cloudy area and allow it to sit overnight When you clean up and buff the area, you will find the stains are gone and the wood shines with beauty.

Restore tarnished silverware with cornstarch

The primary use of cornstarch is to make a soup thicker. However, you can use it as a gritty cleaning agent. Simply apply a little paste of it with water to tarnished silverware, leave it dry and see just how sparkly the items have become.

Believe it or not, all of these cleaning hacks are pretty useful and it will be a shame if you don’t give them a try.
