Are you cleaning these items you are using every single day?

Cleaning Items You Use Everyday

When it comes to cleaning, you are probably guilty of skipping a chore every once in a while. Although this occurs almost naturally, it is never ideal. That is especially the case when it concerns some items you are likely using every day.

If you want to keep yourself safe from bacteria and germs, you best think twice whether you are missing on certain chores.

The following is a list of items that probably slip through the cracks and often remain unclean:

  • Refrigerator – this household appliance can make you sick if you don’t invest the cleaning effort now and then. Perhaps the most neglected parts of the fridge are the meat and vegetable compartments. These are the grimiest elements of the fridge, and yet they are often forgotten. You need to include fridge cleaning on your list of chores for sure. Unplug the appliance, toss old containers and expired food and wipe up the interior with a damp cloth. Baking soda is an excellent solution to keep unpleasant odours at bay.
  • Kitchen drawers and cabinets – while you are still in the kitchen, you need to pay attention to far more areas than just the countertops and the appliances. The cabinets and drawers of the kitchen are the areas you keep your dishes and other items you use during food preparation. For this reason, it makes sense to clean them, right? To do it properly, empty them out and thoroughly wipe their interior. While you are at it, see if there is anything you can dispose of.
  • Shower curtain – you’d think that the shower curtain is clean with all the moisture in the bathroom. However, it is moisture that calls for regular cleaning of this item, because of the threat of mould growth. Thankfully, you can quickly clean the curtain by tossing it in the washing machine.
  • Cleaning Services LondonToys – many of your child’s toys are harbouring an alarming amount of bacteria. That is a scary thought, considering children have a weak immune system and they play with toys often. You’d be surprised to find out that some plastic toys can, in fact, be cleaned in the dishwasher on low temperature. Others you can just wipe with a damp cloth and a homemade all-purpose cleaner of one part water with one part vinegar.
  • Computer and telephone screens – electronic devices are part of your life, and they see daily use. Thanks to this, they accumulate a huge deal of bacteria and germs, all of which you come into contact with. To prevent your devices from getting yucky, you should wipe them on a regular basis with wet wipes or wipes with isopropyl alcohol.
  • Reusable water bottles – you are helping the environment by cutting the usage of plastic bottles. Now you need to help yourself from coming into contact with all the bacteria that develops on reusable water bottles. Add them to the dishwasher the next time you are giving your dishes a spin.

There are many items you likely skip during your home cleaning rounds. Hopefully, you are now more aware of them and will be more diligent the next time.
